Whether you're starting or scaling

The same engine that finds your next product watches the rivals you already have. Pick where you are — Cartlens is useful from day one, before you've sold a thing.

Figuring out what to sell

See what's rising across thousands of stores, where the gaps are, and who already owns each niche — before it's obvious.

  • Trending & cooling products by distribution
  • Opportunity finder: high demand, few sellers
  • The players in any niche, ranked

Already selling

Connect your store and Cartlens tracks your competitors automatically — every price cut, new drop, and stockout, summarized weekly.

  • Price moves & who's undercutting you
  • Rival stockouts on your overlapping SKUs
  • Assortment shifts & promo cadence
Find it before it's obvious

Spot the winning product while there's still room.

Distribution is the tell. When a product shows up in more and more stores, holds its price, and keeps selling out, demand is real — not hype. Cartlens measures that across the whole market so you enter early, not late.

  • Opportunity finder — plots demand against how many stores already sell it. The bottom-right is your opening.
  • Category momentum — which categories are expanding and which are quietly dying.
  • Rising & cooling products — ranked by store-count change, not vanity metrics.

Watch every rival

The moment a competitor blinks, you'll know.

Cartlens snapshots your rivals' catalogs on a schedule and tells you only what changed — the price cut, the new flavor, the SKU that just sold out. The signal that matters most isn't their price; it's their stockout on a product you both sell.

  • Stockouts to capture — when a rival runs out on an overlapping SKU, that demand is up for grabs.
  • Price intelligence — who's undercutting you, by how much, and whether it's a pattern.
  • Assortment & promo cadence — new drops, discontinued lines, and how often they discount.

Search & AI visibility

See who the buyer sees — in Google and in AI answers.

Discovery is moving from search results to AI recommendations. Cartlens runs a niche's real buying questions through the answer engines and shows whose brand gets cited — so you know if you're in the conversation, or invisible.

  • AI share of voice — how often each brand is recommended by ChatGPT, Perplexity & Google AI.
  • Organic share of voice — your rank across the keywords that actually convert.
  • The prompts you're losing — the exact questions where a rival wins the answer.

How it works

Public data, tracked over time, distilled to what changed

1

We read public catalogs

Every Shopify store publishes its catalog. Cartlens reads products, prices, and availability across three sources per product and fuses them into one confident record.

2

We snapshot on a schedule

Fast-movers daily, the long tail weekly. Each snapshot is kept, so we can tell the difference between this week and last — the change is the whole point.

3

We email only the signal

A price cut, a new drop, a stockout on a product you both sell — filtered to what matters and delivered as a two-minute brief every Monday.

The Monday brief

Two minutes. Only what changed.

No dashboard to check. The intelligence comes to you — a per-competitor digest that reads like a colleague who watched your market all week.

Why Cartlens is different

We measure commerce demand — not web traffic.

Traffic estimators miss the DTC brand quietly winning on TikTok. We read what stores actually do: what sells out, what spreads to more shelves, what holds its price. Signals that come straight from the catalog, timestamped and cross-checked — closer to the truth than any traffic guess, and impossible to back-fill once you've started tracking.

Questions

The honest answers

How do you get the data?

Entirely from public sources. Every Shopify storefront publishes its catalog (products, variants, prices, availability). We read that plus the store's own sitemap and rendered product pages, fuse the three, and snapshot them over time. No logins, no scraping behind auth.

Is that legal?

We only read publicly available pages, throttle politely, and honor opt-outs — and we sell derived insights, not raw catalog dumps. If a store asks to be excluded, we remove it.

Why not just use a traffic tool like SimilarWeb?

Traffic estimates are built for generic websites and systematically undercount DTC brands that grow on social. We measure commerce signals — sellouts, distribution spread, review velocity, price firmness — which are closer to actual sales and can't be gamed by a big ad budget.

Does it work for non-Shopify stores?

Shopify today, because its open catalog makes the data trustworthy. WooCommerce and BigCommerce are on the roadmap; the fusion approach extends to any store that exposes structured product data.

Can I track my own store too?

Yes — connect your store and Cartlens uses your catalog to find the right competitors and flag exactly where a rival's move overlaps what you sell.

How fresh is the data?

Fast-moving stores are snapshotted daily; the long tail weekly. Stockouts and price cuts on tracked competitors can trigger instant alerts.
